Ahoy mateys! Hokahey will be participating in the Newport Harbor-Cabo San Lucas race in March of 2020. We are looking for crew! All of the fastest and coolest boats on the western seaboard are entering so naturally, Hokahey had to be there 😀
We will race along 1,100mi of coastline from California to Baja California del Sur, Mexico, the winds will be at our back, and we will fly the spin and code 0 sails. Name something more fun, we’ll wait 😉
Our sailing vessel Hokahey is birthed in La Paz, Mexico, and we will use La Paz as our primary training location. La Paz is an ideal place to practice flying the spinnaker. Ten to fifteen knots of wind and the most beautiful sea you’ve ever seen, matey!
It also happens to be a great place to swim with whale sharks and anchor in deserted coves.
Each sailor who will join the race crew will have to commit to attending 3 of Hokahey’s practice sessions in La Paz, and additionally 3 JH Crew meetings in Jackson Hole. You have 15 months to fulfill these requirements so if it’s an issue talk to the Captain!
Approximate Race date:
